PUBG Creator's CRAZY Plan: Remaking the ENTIRE Internet! (2025)

Get ready for a mind-blowing revelation! Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene, the mastermind behind PUBG, is on a mission to revolutionize the internet as we know it. But here's where it gets controversial... he wants to rebuild HTTP, the very foundation of the internet, in 3D!

Brendan Greene, an Irish video game visionary, has a track record of creating and popularizing the battle royale genre. From Arma 3 mods to H1Z1 and the massive success of PUBG, his big ideas know no bounds. And now, he's taking on the ultimate challenge: creating the next internet.

Greene's 10-year plan is an ambitious journey. He aims to develop three games that will showcase and refine technology capable of generating vast, detailed 3D worlds, supporting millions of players. His vision is to create Earth-scale planets where players can coexist and explore together.

"It's like the internet in 3D," Greene explains. "We have shared social spaces online, but in gaming, we're still limited to small bubbles. I want to build sandboxes or worlds that are truly shared."

The first step towards this grand vision is Prologue: Go Wayback, a survival and orienteering game. It's a testing ground for terrain-generation tools, allowing the game to quickly create unique, detailed 3D worlds on players' devices. While it's a far cry from the scale of the Earth, it's a significant first move.

The next games, a multiplayer shooter and an unknown third title, will further expand the generated playing spaces and introduce new features like marketplaces and financial layers. The studio's proprietary engine, Melba, plays a crucial role in world generation.

"I'm building a Holodeck, but in steps," Greene says. "We're being smart with our resources because we want to get it right. These ideas need testing and proving before we can scale them up."

And here's the part most people miss: Greene intends to make all this technology open source and free to use. He believes that to create a new internet, it must be accessible and managed by a foundation, not a company with a profit motive.

"My vision is to share this with other teams, to enable them to create big worlds. I want the studio to be open and transparent. To create the next internet, we must follow the example of those who tried before us."

While Greene's idea isn't entirely unique, with big tech companies also exploring the metaverse concept, his approach is bold and refreshing. Will his small studio succeed where others have failed? Only time will tell.

Will Greene stick to his plan? That remains to be seen. But one thing's for sure: his ideas are exciting and have the potential to disrupt the industry once again. So, what do you think? Is Greene's vision realistic, or is it too ambitious? Let's discuss in the comments!
