Auburn's 2027 recruiting class takes a hit as four-star safety Jaylen Scott decommits. The Mobile, Alabama native, who was the lone commit for the Tigers in the 2027 cycle, flipped to Auburn from Florida State on June 9. With the arrival of new head coach Alex Golesh and staff, Scott is reevaluating his options. Auburn remains a top contender, but other schools like Oklahoma, Tennessee, Mizzou, and Michigan are also in the mix. Scott, a 6-foot, 160-pound prospect, is ranked as the No. 151 overall prospect and No. 15 safety in the 2027 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He's also the No. 5 junior in Alabama. Scott previously praised Auburn's passionate fan base and rich tradition, stating, 'The program’s rich tradition, storied history, and iconic rivalries, family-like atmosphere within the team also make Auburn a special place for me.' However, with the recent decommitments of Kentrell White, Peyton Falzone, and Nikau Hepi, and the flip of Bralan Womack to Mississippi State, Auburn's recruiting class is facing challenges. The Tigers are now ranked No. 69 in the nation for the 2026 class, and it remains to be seen how they will navigate the signing period this week.
