Indian 'Bahubali' Rocket Launches Heaviest Satellite CMS-03! | ISRO Mission Success (2025)

India's Space Milestone: Launching the Heaviest Satellite with 'Bahubali' Rocket

A historic moment for Indian space exploration! The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has achieved a remarkable feat by launching the heaviest satellite ever from Indian territory. The CMS-03 satellite, weighing an impressive 4,410 kg, was successfully sent into space on the LVM3-M5 rocket, nicknamed 'Bahubali'.

But here's the exciting part: the launch was captured on video, offering a thrilling perspective. The footage shows the satellite's journey, from the initial countdown to the powerful lift-off, and even includes the separation of the S200 solid rocket boosters and the L110 liquid core stage. This visual documentation is a testament to ISRO's technological prowess.

The S200 boosters, positioned on either side of the rocket, played a crucial role in providing the thrust needed for lift-off. Meanwhile, the L110 Liquid Stage, powered by two Vikas engines, ensured the mission's success. And this is where it gets interesting: the S200 boosters and L110 stage are key components that have contributed to the LVM3 rocket's 100% success rate in its eight launches, including the prestigious Chandrayaan-3 mission in 2023.

The CMS-03 satellite, a multi-band communication powerhouse, was placed into the Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) after taking off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. ISRO Chairman V Narayanan proudly announced that the satellite's precise injection into orbit will enable communication services across a vast oceanic area, including India, for at least 15 years. He hailed this achievement as a shining example of India's self-reliance in space technology.

The LVM3-M5 rocket, now known as 'Bahubali', earned its name for its exceptional heavy-lifting capabilities. This launch further cements ISRO's reputation and India's growing strength in space exploration.

What do you think about India's latest space achievement? Is the 'Bahubali' rocket a fitting name for such a powerful launch vehicle? Share your thoughts and join the discussion!
